dB-S De-Esser
Specialist sibilance removal.
dB-S is an intelligent EQ module which dynamically removes sibilance (those irritating distorted "ssss", "shhh" and "tttt" sounds) from vocal recordings without altering the character of the voice. dB-S can transparently de-ess individual vocal tracks, or vocals sitting in a final stereo mix.
The realtime graphic display helps you tune into and remove sibilant frequencies with ease.
Choose from 3 algorithms for removing the sibilance, wideband (like a traditional studio de-esser), lowpass (attenuate the high frequencies of your choice) or narrowband (attenuate a tuned band of frequencies).
dB-L Mastering Limiter
dB-L boosts the volume of your final mix
Don't be fooled by the simple appearance - this is an intelligent lookahead limiter which boosts volume without introducing distortion or other audible nasties. Typical mixes (which have already been normalized to 0dB) can usually be boosted by between 6 & 12dB without any problems.
dB-L can also be used as a brickwall limiter. Stick it on the end of a chain of effects to guarantee your output does not exceed 0dB (or whatever level you set), no matter how hard you push the input.
Also useful for generating heavy pumping compression effects on drum tracks etc.
With optional 16 bit dithering (normal or noise-shaped) for creating CD masters, 64 bit internal accuracy, and support for sample rates up to 24bit/96kHz, this is a truly professional loudness maximizer and mastering limiter.

Sidechain Gate
Crisp clean gating from the plug-in gate with true multi track side-chaining operation.
Sidechain Gate lets you perform clever mixing techniques, by using a source track to gate a destination track. For example, you can use a complex hi-hat pattern in one track to rhythmically gate a synth pad in another track. Or simplify a busy bass guitar by gating it from a kick drum track (so the bass guitar is only heard when the kick drum sounds).
Sidechain Gate also performs brilliantly as a conventional insert effect. The EQ and Shape controls allow you to intelligently gate problem recordings. Say you want to clean up a noisy recording of a snare drum, which has some bleed-through from a crash cymbal. Simply use the Hi Cut control to filter out the higher frequencies, and then the gate will only open when the snare is hit.

Side-chaining compressors are amazingly useful effects. They are standard issue tools for vocal ducking in radio production, to fade out music when a narrator is speaking. They are also insanely popular in dance production, able to make your whole mix "pump" or "breathe" by following a kick drum.
Sidechain Compressor is easy to use, and works in almost any audio software package - even those that do not directly support side-chaining. It only takes a few mouse clicks and you're up and running!
